San Martín de los Andes is an alpine-style mountain town surrounded by steep hillsides. It's the departure point for sailing trips on Lagos Lácar and Nonthué.

:: Seven Lakes Route:  Departing from San Martin de Los Andes, amidst waterfalls and forests, this breathtaking hundred km long road is surprisingly beautiful, portraying every lake's own charm. You will be amazed by the beauty of Lagos Machonico, Hermoso, Villarino, Falkner, Traful, Correntoso y Espejo, arriving at Villa La Angostura, located on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.

:: Cerro Chapelco: Located 15 km away, this ski resort has 29 km of pistes, overall drop of 730 m, very good slopes and snow conditions and is suitable for practicing all sorts of winter sports. In summertime, Chapelco turns into a centre for adventure sports where climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, trekking, horseback riding, 4x4 expeditions and quad-bikes can be practiced here.

:: Lanin National Park: Its wooded mountain valleys and the spectacular Lanin Volcano (3776 m high) will tempt any trekker. The challenging climb up the volcano can be completed in one long day. However, make note that permits, climbing experience and proper equipment will be required.
