San Fabián de Alico – Chile

It’s a new destination on the tourism map, visited rarely by tourists, which is exactly why you have to go! You’ll still see people holding onto their traditions, wearing the traditional outfits and travelling by horseback. San Fabían de Alico is surrounded by the Unesco Biosphere Reserve “Corredor Biológico Nevados de ChillánLaguna del Laja” and is located in the Río Nuble Valley offering breathtaking landscapes, rough high mountain peaks, transparent lakes & rivers, natural thermal baths, native forests, amazing geological formations, impressive volcanoes and more… Nature lovers will adore its natural beauty and diverse fauna & flora and adventurers will not want to leave! It’s a wild, unspoiled trekking and horseback riding paradise whilst the gorgeous Río Nuble is a rafting & kayaking hotspot!
How to get to there: bus or train to San Carlos (4-5 hours south of Santiago), then take a 1h local bus ride to San Fabián de Alico.
