If you’re short on time you can hike up to the Mirador Los Arayanes or Las Bandurrias starting from the village. Or head out further to go trekking or taking pics at for example Cerro Colorado, Lago Nonthué, Lago Huechulafquen and the notorious Lanin Volcano! Get the detailed info at the park rangers’ office on the main plaza, they have loads more excellent possibilities up their sleeve for you!

Cerro Chapelco, 15km away, is San Martín’s ski resort with 29km of slopes and very good snow conditions, an excellent spot for winter sports or adventure sports in summer like climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, horseback riding … And obviously you should discover the famous Seven Lakes Route, a spectacular 100km long road that literally passes 7 gorgeous lakes and ends at Villa La Angostura.
Most transfers to the area’s highlights are operated only in high season, but by renting a car you have the freedom to visit all the area’s natural gems without any problem all year round!
Tip: lots of travellers cross the border by bus to Pucón in Chile and vice versa!
